Computer Program Service
The Data Bank Computer Program Service (CPS) is part of an intergovernmental organisation and it follows the rules established by its participating countries. It is dedicated to knowledge sharing and preservation for nuclear science and technology, with a focus on computer programs within the NEA Data Bank.
CPS mission
The mission of the CPS is:
- to collect, test and distribute computer programs
- to organise training courses on the most popular computer programs
- to preserve and distribute integral experiment data, databases, processed libraries, benchmark and NEA safety joint projects.
What resources are available from CPS?
- Computer programs
- Training courses
- Integral experiment data, benchmarks and safety joint projects
Note
All controlled-access material is subject to restrictions that may differ from package to package. Each application for access is processed individually, with applicable restrictions sent during the application process and the license issued on completion.
For more information, please contact us.
Computer programs
The NEA Data Bank computer program collection covers a wide range of applications for nuclear science and technology. It is continuously evolving as the CPS receives new material, and updates and tests existing material.
Catalogue
The complete CPS computer codes and other package list is organised in alphabetical order as well as by category or keywords. CPS also has a set of legacy books and proceedings that are available upon request.
Guidelines
End users can request a computer program for NEA Data Bank participating countries. There are specific rules that apply to non-NEA Data Bank participating countries.
For those that may have a package suitable for the NEA Data Bank, you can find more information on submitting a new program or providing updates to an existing package, you can find contribution information online.
If your establishment is not already nominated to receive CPS packages, you can find more information on becoming a nominated establishment and the relevant information for liaison officers, who review all requests on behalf of their establishment.
Training courses
CPS organises training courses on widely used computer programs for nuclear science and technology. You can find more information about upcoming events including conditions for attending. Please note that for access-controlled software, training participants must hold the corresponding computer program licence and be able to provide a proof of this licence, as well as pay the course registration fee ahead of the course.
Please note that unless the training course is full, registrations are open up to one month before the start of the course. For participants working in France, please note that no "convention de formation" is established as the NEA is not a "centre de formation".
Integral experiment data, benchmarks and safety joint projects
CPS also provides support to other divisions by distributing the material they maintain or administer. Please note that restrictions apply to all these packages.
Integral experiment data and benchmarks
The Division of Nuclear Science is responsible for a wide range of Benchmark and databases for data and code validation which are summarised in our comprehensive catalogue in alphabetical order and by keyword.
Safety joint projects
The Division of Nuclear safety regulation is responsible for a wide range of Safety Joint Research Project Databases, which are summarised in our catalogue in alphabetical order and by keyword. Please note that only completed projects are distributed by the CPS. They are labelled "CSNI" (the acronym for Committee on the Safety of Nuclear Installations).
