Shielding Integral Benchmark Archive and Database (SINBAD)

The NEA Shielding Integral Benchmark Archive and Database (SINBAD) is comprised of over 100 benchmarks that serve to validate simulations related to radiation shielding of nuclear reactors, accelerators and fusion systems. Its experimental data provide the basis for reliable radiation protection planning and simulation of material ageing. SINBAD development is currently executed on the GitLab platform hosted by the NEA Data Bank.

Find more information online at the SINBAD website.

Accessing SINBAD

SINBAD distribution is restricted and subject to prior approval. It can be requested from the Data Bank or RSICC. There are three separate packages covering reactor shielding, accelerator shielding and fusion neutronics experiments.

Request streamlining

The package pages for SINBAD are designed to allow users to request individual experiments. You can use the links below to access the all experiments direct request forms.

Coming soon - GitLab access

In 2023, the SINBAD Task Force decided to make available the full GitLab contents of SINBAD to recipients. The NEA is working to configure access rules. If you would like to obtain access to this content, contribute models, or propose other codes that could have model repositories, please contact us at one of the email accounts below.
